Safeguarding at Ellowes
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our students is of paramount importance, and something that we take extremely seriously and pride ourselves on here at Ellowes.
Ellowes Hall Sports College, within the Invictus Multi Academy Trust and lead by our Executive Head, recognises its legal duty under s 175/157 of the Education Act 2002 to work with other agencies in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and protecting them from harm.
Our guidance is taken from the most up to date nationwide Government guidelines “Keeping Children Safe in Education” issued in September 2016, as well as acting on advice from our local Dudley Safeguarding Children Board.
It is our responsibility to ensure that our staff are well trained in safeguarding, and that this training is maintained and kept up to date. We have set protocols within school for staff to follow when there are concerns, and we strive to educate our students on how to keep themselves safe.
Safeguarding is governed at Ellowes by Mr Bill Caldwell, our Designated Safeguarding Governor and a copy of our current Safeguarding policy can be found below;
